Batman: Arkham Knight Riddler Trophies — How to Find and Solve Them All
A complete strategy for tackling all 243 Riddler trophies and challenges in Batman: Arkham Knight without losing your mind, including the gadgets you need for each type.
There are 243 Riddler challenges in Batman: Arkham Knight, and collecting them is the single biggest hurdle between you and the game’s true ending. The good news: once you understand the categories and have the right gadgets, most of them fall quickly. Here’s a strategy that saves hours.
Do them in the right order
Do not hunt trophies from the start of the game. Many require gadgets and upgrades you won’t have for hours. The efficient approach:
- Play the main story until you unlock the Batmobile’s power winch, the remote hacking device, and the voice synthesizer.
- Only then start systematically clearing trophies district by district.
- Save the physical-challenge rooms for last, once your combat and driving are sharp.
Trying to 100% too early just means backtracking.
The gadgets you’ll need
Most Riddler challenges gate behind one of these tools:
- Batarang / Remote Electrical Charge (REC): hit switches and power up generators.
- Line Launcher: cross gaps and grind along ziplines to reach trophies.
- Batmobile Winch: pull down walls and pressure plates.
- Voice Synthesizer: command Militia troops to open gates (unlocked mid-story).
- Remote Hacking Device: override sequencers and rotate collectible cages.
If a trophy seems impossible, it’s almost always because you’re missing one of these — not because you’re solving it wrong.
The challenge categories
Riddler Trophies (the cages)
Physical trophies locked in cages or behind puzzles. Solve the nearby mechanism — a switch, a pressure plate, a question-mark panel — to release them.
Riddles
Environmental puzzles. Scan a specific object in the world that matches the riddle’s clue. Use Detective Mode to spot interactive objects.
Breakable Objects (Riddler informants)
Green question-mark objects you smash. Interrogate captured Riddler informants (marked on the map) to reveal their locations district by district.
Bomb Rioters & Checkpoints
Batmobile-based combat and racing challenges that test your driving and battle mode skills.
A district-by-district method
- Interrogate the Riddler informant in each district first — this reveals every collectible location on your map for that area.
- Sweep the district in your Batmobile, grabbing everything now visible.
- Only leave a trophy behind if it clearly needs a gadget you don’t have yet, then circle back after the next story unlock.
The reward
Collecting all 243 challenges completes the “Riddler’s Revenge” questline, lets you confront Riddler himself, and is required for the game’s 100% completion true ending. It’s a grind, but doing it methodically — informant first, gadgets ready, district by district — turns a frustrating hunt into a satisfying clear.
